Dave has served as the pastor of First UMC since July 1, 2003. He has previously served as pastor in United Methodist Churches in Warren and Eastpointe, MI. Dave entered pastoral ministry after 13 years in full time music ministry, serving churches in Michigan and Illinois. He received his Master of Divinity from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois and his Master of Music from the University of Michigan. Dave and his wife Terry, have two adult children, Carl and Mary.

I live in a world of metaphor.  It seems to me that  everyday events and experiences point to deeper things and contain life lessons for those who will train their eyes to see.  This web page is a gift from my son and an experiment in sharing writings, videos, sermons and stories.  It is my hope that some of these will strike a chord with those who happen upon them.  It is also my hope that having such a page will encourage me to continue to find the blessings and the lessons in each day.
